Evelyn Waldhour Ward
Savannah- Evelyn Waldhour Ward, 90, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Hospice House.
A native and lifelong resident of Savannah, she was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Ward retired from Union Camp Corporation and following retirement worked for the Social Security Administration. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Ward.
Survivors include her sons, Elton W. Waldhour and his wife, Lacey, of McDouough, GA, Alvin B. Ward, Sr. and his wife, Rose, of Tybee Island; daughter, Diane Waldhour Forkner, of Savannah; four grandsons, Jeff Mosley, Ashley Mosley, Christopher Waldhour, and Benjie Ward; three granddaughters, Nicole Smith, Jennifer Collins, and Amy Tracey; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 11, 2009, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Peter. J. Hartmann officiating.
Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery.
